1. packing density and dry flow property of powder

Packing density refers to the apparent density under certain compression conditions, usually

10% ~ 30% higher than the apparent density, which is used to balance the properties of

powder. The dry material flowability of the resin can predict the feeding performance of the

resin in the feeding hopper. The resin with large spherical particles and uniform particle size

has good flowability, so the suspension method and bulk method have good flowability.

2. Molecular weight distribution

The molecular weight distribution of PVC resin is closely related to the molding process and

product quality, and usually the narrow distribution or bimodal distribution is better. Because

the double bond structure and so on are mostly concentrated in the low molecular weight

part. Generally speaking, the narrow molecular weight distribution is preferred for polymer

molding, because the processing and product properties are more uniform. Too wide

molecular weight distribution indicates that there are a certain number of low or high

molecular weight parts in the polymer.

The existence of the former will significantly reduce its thermal stability, heat-resistant

deformation temperature, electrical insulation, mechanical strength and aging resistance; the

existence of the latter often makes it difficult to plasticize under normal processing

conditions, will also cause the inherent quality of products, especially the appearance of the

quality of the decline, in severe cases, unplasticized particles like fish eyes may appear on

the surface of the product.

3. Average particle size

Average particle size and sieve residue show the same physical property of PVC resin, but

they are expressed and measured in different ways. The average particle size can be obtained

by laser particle size analyzer, and the average particle size can be obtained by analysis and

calculation.
