The Use and Function of Polyethylene Wax

Polyethylene wax is a chemical material with a color of white beads/flakes. It is made from ethylene polymerized rubber processing agents and has characteristics such as high melting point, high hardness, high gloss, and white color. Polyethylene wax has excellent lubricity, flowability, dispersibility, wear and heat resistance, electrical properties, mechanical properties, light resistance, and chemical stability.

Polymer wax: ethylene polymerization; Free radical polymerization, catalytic polymerization;
Cracked wax: PE resin/recycled cracking; Thermal cracking, catalytic cracking;
Oligomers: HDPE by-products, sourced from Hostalen ACP low-pressure slurry kettle process, Mitsui CX process, etc;
Process comparison:
Polymeric wax
Characteristics: Concentrated molecular weight distribution. it can accurately control molecular weight
Advantages: Good processing effect, no precipitation
Disadvantages: High price point, mainly imported, influenced by import and export policies
Cracking wax
Characteristics: The molecular weight distribution is relatively concentrated, and the molecular weight varies depending on the raw materials, processing technology, and conditions
Advantages: high viscosity, strong dispersibility, and moderate product price
Disadvantages: Odor, uneven performance and quality

Features: Wide molecular weight distribution, requiring further processing for oil dehydration
Advantages: Low viscosity, good wettability, and relatively low price
Disadvantages: There is a possibility of precipitation and batch instability

Characteristics of polyethylene wax:
1. It can improve the rheological properties of the system, including internal and external lubrication, viscosity regulation, flowability, etc.
2. Improve the apparent performance of the product, resistance to scratches, brightness, glass fiber leakage, and increase brightness.
3. Improve the dispersion performance of system fillers, such as dispersion, coupling, and coating.
4. Improve the compatibility and plasticization of various components.
